so road trip yesterday with the GF up and over Hoosier Pass, and we got to get out of our local dry hot box of hometown valley. The Colorado high country is now in the late summer monsoon weather flow with afternoon moisture, while the western part of the state shrivels into a dry crackled raisin.

Sounds about right. We explored Guanella Pass and Boreas Pass a couple weeks ago and it was in the 40s atop both.
